Description
Celebrate spring time or anytime with these light, creamy and very cherry phyllo shells!
Ingredients
3 packages (15 count, each) Athens® Phyllo Shells
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
4 ounces cream cheese, softened, at room temperature
1/4 cup cherry pastry filling, (such as Solo Cherry Cake & Pastry Filling)
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
45 white chips
2 tablespoons pistachios, coarsely ground
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F. Place empty shells on a baking sheet and bake 3-5 minutes.
Using a stand or hand mixer, whisk together heavy cream and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in cherry pastry filling and almond extract. Gradually add the confectioners sugar, mixing until completely combined. Gently fold in half of the whipped cream. Once incorporated, fold in remaining whipped cream.
Pipe or spoon mixture into phyllo shells. Complete the blossoms by placing white chip in center of each and sprinkle with pistachios.
