Description
Sweet fruity guava flavor combines with salami and spicy cheese in phyllo shells for the perfect snack!
Ingredients
2 packages (15 count, each) Athens® Phyllo Shells
8 ounces guava paste, (such as Goya brand)
7 ounces salami, thick sliced (approx. 1/4″ thick)
8 ounces hot pepper Havarti or hot pepper cheddar cheese
red pepper flakes, optional for garnish
Directions
Preheat oven to 375F. Place phyllo shells on baking sheet.
Slice guava paste into 30 pieces approximately 1″ x 1″ x 1/2″. Place once piece of guava in each shell. Cut salami into quarters and place 2 pieces in each phyllo shell on top of guava. Slice cheese into pieces approximately 1″ x 1″ x 1/4″ and place on top of salami. Bake 4-6 minutes or until cheese starts to melt.
If desired, garnish with red pepper flakes. Allow to rest 5 minutes so the guava paste cools slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips
-Guava paste can be found in the Latin/Caribbean aisle of most grocery stores. It comes in plastic tubs, metal cans as well as plastic lined carboard boxes.
-Hot pepper cheese and salami vary in spiciness, so be sure to taste before adding red pepper flakes.
