Description
Indulge in these rich & decadent crispy phyllo shells with chocolate cherry brownie filling. They’re festively garnished with whipped cream and peppermint candy to add a cozy seasonal twist to these tasty little desserts.
Ingredients
- 3 packages (15 count, each) Athens® Phyllo Shells
- 1 cup chopped pitted cherries, thawed if frozen
- ¼ cup cherry brandy (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 package (18 ounces) fudge brownie mix
- Whipped cream for garnish
- Crushed red and/or green peppermint candies for garnish
Directions
In a small bowl, soak cherries in cherry brandy for 1 hour, if using.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and vegetable oil. Gradually add brownie mix until well blended.
Stir in cherries with the liquid. If not using brandy, add cherries with ¼ cup water. Mix well.
Spoon batter into each phyllo shell until just below the brims. Place on baking sheets. Bake for 15 minutes or until the filling is just set. Cool on a rack.
Serve warm or cooled, garnished with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candies.
