Description
Filled with a creamy mixture of goat cheese and Greek-style yogurt then topped with caramelized onions, these Mini Phyllo Shell appetizers offer a powerful combination of flavors.
Ingredients
- Onion:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Tartlets:
- 4 ounces goat cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons Greek-style yogurt
- 1 package (15 count, ez) Athens® Phyllo Shells
Directions
In a small skillet, heat olive oil over low heat and sauté onion, 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently, until beginning to brown. Add nutmeg, salt and pepper. Set aside to cool. Combine goat cheese, egg yolk and yogurt in a small bowl. Spoon mixture into Athens Phyllo Shells. Bake in a pre-heated 350°F oven until set, about 15 minutes. Top with onions and serve.
