Ingredients
- 2 packages Athens® Phyllo Dough (9″ x 14″), thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 ½ stick butter, melted & divided
- 1 box (18 ounces) brownie mix
- 16 six-inch treat sticks
For Decorating:
- Confectioners sugar for dusting
- Edible markers
- Colored icing
- Edible eyes
Directions
Thaw two rolls of phyllo, following thawing instructions on package. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
In a large bowl, blend egg, ¼ cup melted butter, and brownie mix with a spoon until a smooth dough forms.
Shape dough into sixteen 1¼-inch brownie balls; chill for 30 minutes.
Unroll and cover phyllo sheets with plastic wrap, then a slightly damp towel to prevent drying out. Place one sheet of phyllo on work surface and lightly brush the surface with melted butter. Cut the sheet in half vertically. Place one half over the other, staggering corners. Repeat with one more phyllo sheet for a total stack of four half sheets.
Place one brownie ball in the center of the stacked phyllo sheets. Insert a treat stick into the brownie ball.
Gather the phyllo sheets around the brownie ball, pinching underneath to form a neck. Place on a baking sheet.
Repeat with remaining phyllo and brownie balls.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until phyllo is golden brown.
Remove carefully with a spatula and cool on a rack.
For a white ghost, sift confectioners sugar over the top. Decorate with edible markers, colored icing and edible eyes as desired.
