Crumbled spicy sausage joins forces with dried cherries and Granny Smith apples in these easy-to-make phyllo shell appetizers.


  • 1/2 cup bulk pork hot Italian sausage
  • 1/4 cup onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup celery, minced
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons chopped dried cherries
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup Granny Smith apples, coarsely chopped
  • 2 package (15 count, each) Athens® Phyllo Shells


Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a small skillet, cook sausage and stir until well crumbled. Add onion, celery, dried cherries and ketchup. Sauté for 2 minutes. Add chopped apple and sauté 2 minutes longer. Spoon filling into each  phyllo shell. Place on baking tray. Bake for 5 minutes. Serve warm.
